Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book my wedding cake?

It is advisable to secure your date 12-18 months before your wedding especially during peak months (April – September). Sometimes I may have availability closer to your date though so it’s always worth getting in touch.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

I am able to cater for intolerances but not allergies as my kitchen is not a certified allergen free work space.

All cakes are made where gluten, eggs, milk, soya and nuts are used therefore I cannot guarantee any product will be 100% free from.

Do you deliver?

yes, due to the delicate nature of wedding cakes I don’t offer collection unless the cake is two tiers or less and a design that does not require setting up by myself at the venue.
Delivery is charged at 50p per mile both ways and time taken to set up.

What booking fee do you require and when is the final payment due

£100 non refundable booking fee is required to secure your date. You don’t need to know exactly what you want at this point. Your final balance is due 4 weeks before your wedding.

How many tiers can our wedding cake have?

The size of cake you will need will depend on the amount of guests you’ll be having. I will advise the best size for you on enquiry.

I recommend catering for about 80% of your guests as not everyone will want cake. You can of course have more if you want some left over after your wedding.

Dummy tiers, separators and spacers can be used if you want a visually larger cake but don’t need many portions.

Can we make changes to our cake design??

Yes, you can make changes up until 4 weeks before your wedding. At this point your final balance will be due and no more changes can be made.

What happens if I need to cancel my order?

In the event of a cancellation the booking fee is non-refundable. Any balance paid after the booking fee may be able to be refunded at our discretion as long as no work has begun and no materials have been purchased.

Do you offer cake tastings and consultations?

Sample boxes are available at selected dates throughout the year depending on demand and my availability. They include 5 flavours from my menu and are complimentary to booked couples. However, if you’d prefer to try before you secure your date you’re welcome to purchase one first. The cost is £25 if collected, £35 for next day postage. The £25 fee will be deducted from your booking fee if you go ahead and book with me.

Posting isn’t available in the warmer weather so during the summer months where I have availability collection only is advised.

Please make me aware of any dietary requirements/ food allergies on booking.
Consultations are  held at my home based studio or via zoom if you’re not local to me around 6 months before your wedding.

Can each tier be a different flavour?

yes, absolutely! In fact I would encourage you to have a different flavour for each tier.

Do you have cake stands available for hire?

Yes. A nice cake stand can really elevate your cake. Cake stand hire is £15 + a security deposit of the cost your chosen stand which will be returned to you on the safe return of my clean, undamaged stand within 3 days of your wedding.
